Land Acknowledgement

At YXE Awaken Counselling & Wellness, we acknowledge that our work takes place on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis Nation in Saskatoon, and Treaty 6 and 8 Territories in Prince Albert. These are the traditional and ancestral lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and Métis peoples.

We honor the deep and enduring connection that Indigenous peoples have to this land, and we recognize their ongoing presence, strength, and contributions to our communities. We are grateful to live, work, learn, and grow in these territories, and we acknowledge the harms and injustices that have resulted from colonization and the ongoing impacts of these systems today.

We commit to walking in the spirit of reconciliation and accountability—honoring that we are all Treaty people. We acknowledge that our practice, and all who benefit from this land, have gained from the generosity, resilience, and stewardship of Indigenous peoples.

With humility and respect, we commit to continued learning and unlearning; to supporting Indigenous sovereignty, amplifying Indigenous voices, and integrating decolonizing practices within our work, relationships, and community.
